Mouhot, 1863: 302-303 ; Boisselier 1955 (SKE), pl. 84-a ; Nadine Dalsheimer, 2001: 180-181 : « La tête porte de larges tresses verticales [...] et un chignon cylindrique [...] dents en forme de crocs [...] » Le corps, assis en aisance royale, est « d'une plastique assez médiocre ». Cette statue « se distingue de la statuaire khmère par le fait exceptionnel de la nudité . » « En marge des images khmères, cette statue traduit peut-être des influences extérieures. » « L'identification de cette ronde-bosse est encore incertaine et les dernières propositions (G. Cœdès, BEFEO 28, 1928 [1], p. 84) s'orientaient vers la figure de Yama. » selon Pierre Baptiste la statue serait datable du 8e siècle : in Pierre Baptiste (dir.) et Thierry Zéphir (dir.)
