המשחק בין רב אמן יורי אברבך בלבן, שהיה אלוף ברית המועצות בשחמט, והתחרה באליפות העולם בשחמט לבין רב אמן אלכסנדר קוטוב שהיה אלוף ברית המועצות בשחמט, ופעמיים התחרה על אליפות העולם בשחמט בשחור הגיע לעמדה הבאה לאחר המסע ה-30 של הלבן:
תוכנת השחמט מציעה מיידית את המסע 30...מה:ח3 שאותו ביצע השחור. גם בספר המצוטט נכתב שלקוטוב לא היה ספק בנכונות ההקרבה, אם כי לא היה מסוגל לחשב את תוצאותיה עד הסוף. לכן דוגמא זו לא תסווג על ידי כ"אינטואיציה" טהורה.

On this subject, generally speaking, the creators of combinations have not given us too much information. All the same, there is every reason to suppose that a majority - indeed the overwhelming majority of combinative attacks stretching over many moves were not calculated right to the end, and indeed were mostly undertaken intuitively.
