עלי עבאסי (בפרסית: علی عباسی; נולד ב-1981) הוא במאי קולנוע איראני-דני. הוא ידוע בסרטיו "שלי" (2016) שימוש בתבנית אנ עבור "Shelley (film)" בשפה en אך ערך זה לא קיים בשפה זו(אנ'), "גבול" (2018) (אנ'), "עכביש קדוש" (2022) (אנ') ו-"המתמחה" (2024). הוא זכה בארבעה פרסי רוברט ופרס הקולנוע הגרמני, בנוסף למועמדויות לשבעה פרסי האקדמיה האירופית לקולנוע, פרס גויה ושני פרסי גולדבאג.

ראשית חייו

עבאסי למד בפוליטכניון של טהראן עד שנת 2002, אז היגר לשוודיה כדי ללמוד אדריכלות במכון המלכותי לטכנולוגיה KTH בסטוקהולם.[1] לאחר שסיים את התואר הראשון שלו באמנויות ב-2007,[2] הוא נרשם לבית הספר הלאומי לקולנוע של דנמרק, שם סיים ב-2011 עם עבודת הגמר שלו, הסרט הקצר "M for Markus".[3]

עבאסי מתגורר בקופנהגן וממשיך להחזיק בדרכון איראני.[4][5]

2018: "גבול"

בשנת 2018, עבאסי הציג בבכורה את סרטו השני "גבול". הוא זכה בפרס Un Certain Regard בפסטיבל הקולנוע בקאן, נבחר לסרט הזר הטוב ביותר בטקס האוסקר ה-91.[6] וכן זכה במועמדות לאיפור ועיצוב השיער הטובים ביותר.[7]

2022: "עכביש קדוש"

סרטו העלילתי השלישי, "עכביש קדוש", יצא ב-2022 והיה קופרודוקציה בשפה הפרסית בין שוודיה, דנמרק, צרפת וגרמניה. מבוסס על הסיפור האמיתי של סעיד הנאאי, רוצח סדרתי שתקף עובדות מין והרג שש עשרה נשים משנת 2000 עד 2001 במשהד, איראן, הסרט מתאר עיתונאית בדיונית שחוקרת את הרוצח הסדרתי.

הסרט נבחר להתחרות על פרס דקל הזהב בפסטיבל הקולנוע בקאן 2022, שם הוקרן בבכורה ב-22 במאי 2022.[8] זר אמיר אברהימי, ששיחקה בסרט, זכתה בפרס השחקנית הטובה ביותר בפסטיבל. הסרט נבחר כסרט העלילתי הבינלאומי הטוב ביותר בטקס פרסי האוסקר ה-95.[9][10]

2024: "המתמחה"

סרטו האחרון של עבאסי, "המתמחה", המתאר את דרכו של דונלד טראמפ, הוקרן בבכורה בפסטיבל הקולנוע בקאן 2024.[11] מספר חוזי הפצה קיימים לסרט בארצות הברית, המזרח התיכון, אסיה, דרום אמריקה, ובמזרח ומערב אירופה.
