English: "Carretas de campaña"; Field wagons ("carretas") were introduced by the Spaniards at the end of the 16th century as transport for passengers and goods. This photo was quite probably taken at the Constitución market, in the southern area of Buenos Aires city. Wagon groups arriving to Constitucion came from the South of Argentina. Those coming from the East arrived at Plaza Once.
Español: "Carretas de campaña"; Las carretas fueron introducidas por los conquistadores españoles a finales del siglo XVI como medio de transporte de bienes y pasajeros. Esta foto fue casi seguramente tomada en el mercado de Constitución (área en el sur de la ciudad de Buenos Aires). A Constitución arribaban las tropas de carretas provenientes del sur del país, mientras que las que venían del norte y el oeste llegaban a Plaza Once. |
