Mathematical based floral ornaments, derived from the polar coordinates equation r=b+sin(aθ), which is a slight generalization of the Limaçon and Rose curves.

  • Top left: curve with a=5 and b=1.25, non-self-intersecting
  • Top right: curve with a=(5/2) and b=1.08, single-level self-intersecting
  • Bottom left: curve with a=(5/3) and b=1.08, two-level self-intersecting
  • Bottom right: curve with a=(5/4) and b=1.08, three-level self-intersecting

The self-intersecting curves are displayed with "even-odd" fill algorithm.
