English: Portrait of Rabbi Akiva Eger of Posen (1761-1837); on the back is an inscription by its original owner, Rabbi Yoseph Eger of Halberstadt, whose father (and predecessor in the rabbinate of Halberstadt), also called Akiva, was a first cousin of the subject. R Yoseph died in 1854; therefore the portrait must have been painted before then. It is now in the collection of the Chabad Library.
