Jisr Benat Yakub, stone bridge across River Jordan just south of Lake Huleh, damaged by Turkish forces when defending route to, repaired with wooden trestles. Lambert visited Jisr Benat Yakub between 9 and 14 June. He wrote to his wife on 9 June at Jisr Benat Yakob: 'This afternoon, with my tall scout - a real scout of the Third Brigade - I have done a reconnaissance of the two places I am to paint and really they are wonderful: one a fording-place of the Jordan just below Lake Beheirit el Hule, the Lake Hills and Mount Hermen in background.'
