Idan Shturman (b. 1998) is a young Israeli pianist. Idan was born to a musical family and started playing piano at the age of 4 when he was found to have perfect pitch and photographic memory.

Idan’s great grandmother was a pianist and studied at the Kiev Conservatory and his great grandfather was a violinist and composer and had perfect pitch.

Idan studied his Bachelor of music at the Buchmann Mehta School of music with prof.Arie Vardi. He played his first recital at 12 years old and later at 14 years old he played with the Ashdod Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Uri Segal Mozart piano concerto k467.

One year later at the age of 15 Idan played Saint Saens 2nd piano concerto with Spanish orchestra in Perugia Italy.

Idan graduated from the Thelma Yellin School For The Arts in 2016.Today, Idan is studying in the Hochschule für Musik und Tantz Köln and privately with Elizabeth Leonskaja.

Idan is also taking lessons with the great Leslie Howard and who is his mentor.

Idan participated in masterclasses with great artists such as Maria Joao Pires,Murray Perahia,Michel Beroff.

Idan played concerts in Israel and abroad and participated in a live broadcast concert of the Israel Radio. In Salzburg, Idan played at the Bösendorfer Saal and the Wiener Saal.

Idan received AICF scholarships since 2012, Ronen foundation, as well as winning third prize in the Ashdod national piano competition, fourth place at the Young Artist Piano Competition Jerusalem and the Maria Giubiei special prize in Italy.Idan won also a full scholarship for the Mozarteum Summer Academy in summer 2022.

In 2021 Idan won the special prize of the Tel Hai international piano masterclasses for excellence in participation, in memory of Marina Bondarenko and Ronen foundation scholarship. Idan won recently the gold medal of the international Grand Maestro online music competition.

Idan won the 3rd prize of the Kalmi competition in the Jerusalem academy of music and dance in 2022.

In February 2023 Idan played a recital in Tel Aviv with Schumann Fantasie,Chopin Sonata no 3 op 58 and Liszt Sonata.

In September 2023 Idan played a recital in Tel Aviv with Schubert’s Last Sonata D960 and 4 Impromptus op 90.

Idan speaks fluent English,Hebrew,German,French and Russian.
