Eli Cohen Kagan

Eli Cohen-Kagan was born in a Labor Camp in Siberia (Russia). His parents were exiled to Siberia from the independent Latvia, by the Russians, who conquered the Baltic Countries prior to WWII, as part of The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, 1939. Both grandparents died in the Russian prison.

He returned as an infant to Latvia, together with his parents, after their 17 years of exile of hard labor. Invested great efforts to make "Aliyah", and finally, arrived to Israel, in the midst of The Yom Kippur War, in 1973, as a young engineer. Has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technion in Riga, an MBA in Business Administration from the Hebrew University, and Law Degree, admitted to practice law in Israel. Eli Cohen-Kagan is married with 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.

In the early 80's, was elected as the head of the Professional Engineers Trade Union (50,000 members), and actually, was amongst the initiators of the fundamental change within Israel's trade unions, and a 5 day working week, collective burgeoning agreement. In the late 80's, and during the first Gulf War, served as a Minister for Labor of Affairs (Labor attaché for Northern America) at the Israel Embassy, Washington DC. Known for his connections with US Republican and Democratic parties establishments, and especially for his personal friendship with AFL-CIO President, the late Lane Kirkland. During the 90's, was active in the midst of transition of Israel Railways from the State to Ports & Railways Authority, serving as VP for HR. For more than 10 years, was owner of a private consulting firm, and a boutique Law Office, specializing in Administrative Law, and an expert for Election Campaigns, Dispute Resolutions and arbitrations. From 2009, CEO SII-QCD, a leading Certification Body (CB) in Israel, providing a wide range of certification, verification and assessment services.
