Tom Appelbaum (born 1 September 1988) is an Israeli actor, dancer, choreographer, and screenwriter.

Appelbaum was born in Rishon Lezion to Betty and Uri Cohen. When he was two years old, he moved with his family to Kibbutz Beit Kama and in 2001 he returned to live in Rishon Lezion. In 2004 , when he was 16 years old, Appelbaum joined the youth band "Kol Rishon". As part of the youth band, he studied singing, acting and movement and performed in shows and plays in Israel and throughout the United States . In those years, he studied at the dance school of Limor Shulav in Rishon Lezion. Appelbaum did his high school studies at the secondary school in his city, the "Kiryyat Ha-Hakunin, the Real Gymnasium named after A. Carrari". He was an outstanding long jump athlete in the Maccabi Rishon LeZion team. In 2006, he set a personal record of 7.15 meters in the long jump  . In November 2006 he enlisted in the IDFThere he served as a teacher-soldier with the status of an outstanding artist . Between the years 2011 - 2014 Applebaum studied at Yoram Levinstein's acting school and graduated with honors.

His first appearance on television was at the age of 17, when he received a guest role in the television series " Life is not everything ".

Appelbaum played in a number of plays at the Gesher Theater , including " The Kite Chaser "  (in the role of "Asaf"), "The Great Notebook" and " Animal Farm " (in the role of Squealer). He participated in several musicals in the production of the Chamber Theater , among them " Story of the Suburbs " (in the role of Action) and " Chorus Line "  (in the role of Don), and appeared in the production of the musical " The Little Mermaid " of the Mishkan for Performing Arts in Tel Aviv. In addition, Appelbaum acts in a one-man show called "The Diary" in the production of "Lehav Productions" which ran in educational institutions throughout the country, and in the play "Cleaning the Shin Bet" (in the role of Baruch) in the production of the Haifa Theater .

He experimented with directing , when he directed the play "Ta'onim" together with Yonatan Ron.


In addition to his training with Levinstein, he attended the "Screen Time" course intended for graduates of acting schools, and the course for acting in front of a camera at the Galit Rosenstein troupe's studio.

As of 2022, he is one of the actors of the Haifa Theater, and even created the movement for the show "Freediving" in which he plays alongside Tzipi Shavit and Ora Rivlin.


In 2016 he acted in the short film "KILL THE DRAGON" which was an Israeli-French co-production within the international independent film movement Kino.


In 2020 , he played in the movie "Hahiluf", a feature directed by Nimrod Reif. In 2022 , he appeared in the international film "Follower of the Nations of the World" by Emmy award-winning director Sergey Ursuliak.  In the same year he was photographed for Avi Nesher's film " The Monkey Garden ".


In the field of children's plays, Appelbaum played in "Mulan" produced by the Orna Forat Theater for Children and Youth and "The Adventures of Pinocchio" produced by the Kibbutz Theater as well as in the Hanukkah production "Childhood Connect" alongside Tzipi Shavit and Hani Nahmias . In addition, he served as an aerial circus acrobat in the 2008 Festigal "Catch the Festigal".


Appelbaum starred in commercials for successful brands such as Bezeq , Tafuzina, Yes and Isracard , and Pelephone.


Appelbaum served as a choreographer in the musicals "Gently", "The Station" and "Cleaning the Shin Bet" ( Haifa Theatre ), choreographer "Double Panther" (Beit Lissin Theatre), " Young Frankenstein " and "Rattle the City", as well As a choreographer in season 10 of a star is born .

He was the choreographic director of several plays at the Yiddishspiel Theater , such as "Hot and Tasty" and "Exploding with Laughter" directed by Yonatan Esterkin; Presented by the Meditech Theater "Albert Einstein", and produced by the Alley Theater "Man Fantasia". Performed choreography work in the course of Goodman's excellence group - an acting school in the Negev in the school's productions " Someone to Run With ", " The Breakfast Club " and "The Bus to Israel".
