Almost the exact same position is pictured in Walid Khalidi, (1992), "All That Remains: The Palestinian Villages Occupied and Depopulated by Israel in 1948," Washington D.C.: Institute for Palestine Studies, ISBN 0887282245, page 153. According to Professor Khalidi: "The gate to the Islamic cemetery of Balad al-Shaykh. The Arabic inscription at the top is taken from sura 55 (al-Rahman, "The Merciful"), verse 26 of the Qur'an: "Everyone on earth perishes, but the face of your Lord will abide, full of majesty and honor." The picture in Khalidi was taken in april 1991. Since then the Arabic description has been stolen, and has disappeared. - Mr. Khalidi should do a better research, see this article The Palestine Post, Location of Haifa cemetery, May, 22, 1936, There are two Moslem cemeteries in the area of Nesher. One on the slopes of Mountain Carmel – it was Balad ash-Sheikh cemetery. In this cemetery Sheikh Abdullah as-Sahli grave is situated. The other is in the south-east in Zebulun valley. This cemetery was built in 1934 by Haifa Waqf in Nesher for Haifa Muslims residents. In this cemetery Izz ad-Din al-Qassam was buried in 1935 because he was resident of Haifa. This cemetery was closed for burial in 1930s Hanay (talk) 08:18, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
