IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, visiting the Judea Regional Brigade in the Judea & Samaria Division.

Lt. Gen. Gantz met with the commanders of the area, including GOC Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Mizrahi, and Commander of the Judea & Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Nitzan Alon.

During the visit Lt. Gen. Gantz referred to the protest which took place near Brig. Gen. Alon's residence wherein Jewish extremists living in the West Bank called for his resignation over investigations he opened regarding the activities of extreme right-wing groups. "Nitzan has, is, and will continue to put his life at risk for the sake of Israel's security," the Chief of Staff said, and added that he gives full support to the actions of the commander.

Lt. Gen. Gantz stressed that the IDF will continue to act in a lawful manner and condemned any attempt to drag IDF commanders into political debates.
