Русский: На картине изображено поражение батальона Троицкого пехотного полка русской армии 13 февраля 1812 года под Султан-Будой.

В левой части картины во главе персидского войска в синем халате — Аббас-Мирза.Правой рукой он указывает на отрубленные головы противника.
В центре картины на коне английский офицер.
В правой части холста — показана битва, происходившая в русском лагере. Русские (под знамёнами с двуглавым орлом) находятся в окружении персов (под знамёнами с изображением льва, держащего в лапе саблю на фоне восходящего солнца).

Относительно небольшой победы над одним русским батальоном здесь приводится значение основных исторических событий.

Картина являлась частью убранства замка Аббаса-Мирзы — Уджан. В 1828 году картина была вывезена русскими в качестве трофея в Зимний дворец в Санкт-Петербурге.
English: Depicted on this huge canvas is the defeat of the Russian Trinity Infantry Regiment in the battle near Sultanabad, which took place on 13 February 1812. In the left half of the painting, at the head of the Persian troops, riding a bay horse and wearing a blue robe is Crown Prince Abbas Mirza, son of the reigning Fath Ali Shah . With his right hand he points at the severed heads of the enemy. The defeat itself is shown in the right part of the canvas, where the battle takes place in the Russian camp - note the two-headed eagle of the Russian Empire on the banners. The camp is surrounded by groups of Persian soldiers wearing European uniforms and bearing Persian banners, on which a lion holds a sabre in its paw against a background of the rising sun.

Mounted on a horse in the centre of the painting is an English officer, one of those responsible for the reorganization of the Persian army along European lines.

A relatively minor victory over a single Russian regiment is given here the significance of a major historical event. The painting formed part of the decoration of the Ujan castle of Abbas Mirza, from where in 1828 it was removed by the Russians as a war trophy and brought to the Winter Palace in St Petersburg.

فارسی: این نقاشی بیانگر شکست پیاده نظام روسیه از ارتش ایران در نبرد 13 فوریه 1812 پیرامون سلطان آباد است. در نیمه چپ، در راس لشکر ایرانیان شاهزاده عباس میرزا، ولیعهد و فرزند فتحعلی شاه قاجار با جامه ای آبی رنگ و سوار بر اسب کهر، با دست راست سرهای بریده دشمن را نشان میدهد. نیمه راست تابلو اردوگاه ارتش روسیه که با نشان عقاب دو سر امپراطوری روسیه مشخص شده اند، توسط سربازان ایرانی با یونیفرمهای اروپایی محاصره شده. این سربازان نشان ایران را که شیر و خورشید و شمشیر است حمل میکنند. در مرکز تصویر یک صاحب منصب انگلیسی سوار بر اسب دیده میشود که عهده دار آرایش ارتش ایران در مرزهای اروپایی ست. این تابلوی نقاشی بخشی از تزئینات قلعه اوجان متعلق به عباس میرزا بود که در سال 1828 توسط روسیه بعنوان غنیمت جنگی به قصر زمستانی سن پترزبورگ منتقل شد.
