דומיניק לה קפרה (באנגלית: Dominick LaCapra; נולד ב-13 ביולי 1939) הוא היסטוריון אמריקאי, העוסק בהיסטוריה אינטלקטואלית אירופאית. הוא ידוע בעיקר בזכות מחקריו בהיסטוריה אינטלקטואלית ובלימודי טראומה. הוא שימש כפרופסור ללימודי הומניזם בקתדרה על שם ברייס ואדית מ' בומאר באוניברסיטת קורנל, שם הוא כיום פרופסור אמריטוס.

לה קפרה קיבל תואר ראשון מקורנל ודוקטורט מאוניברסיטת הרווארד. הוא החל ללמד במחלקה להיסטוריה של אוניברסיטת קורנל בשנת 1969.[1]
עבודתו של לה קפרה תרמה לעיצוב ההיסטוריה האינטלקטואלית וקשריה להיסטוריה של התרבות, כמו גם לגישות אחרות כלפי העבר. הוא חקר והרחיב את טבעו וגבולותיו של הבסיס התאורטי של ההבנה ההיסטורית.[2] עבודתו משלבת התפתחויות בתאוריה ביקורתית, כמו פוסט-סטרוקטורליזם ופסיכואנליזה, ובודקת את הרלוונטיות שלהן לחשיבה מחודשת על ההיסטוריה.[3] הוא בוחן ומרחיב את השימוש במחקרים היסטוריים בטכניקות שפותחו בלימודי ספרות ואסתטיקה, כולל קריאה צמודה, ניתוח רטורי ובעיית האינטראקציה בין טקסטים או ממצאים וההקשרים (הקונטקסטים) שלהם.[4] בנוסף לתפקידה בתחום ההיסטוריה, עבודתו של לה קפרה זכתה לדיון נרחב בתחומי מדעי הרוח והחברה האחרים, בעיקר בכל הקשור לתורת הטראומה ולימודי השואה.[5]
בקורנל, שם הוא כיום פרופסור אמריטוס, החזיק לה קפרה בתפקידים במחלקות להיסטוריה ולספרות השוואתית. הוא כיהן במשך שנתיים כמנהל בפועל, ובמשך עשר שנים כמנהל אגודת קורנל למדעי הרוח. הוא עמית בכיר בבית הספר לביקורת ותיאוריה.[6] בין השנים 1996–2000 היה מנהל שותף, ובין השנים 2000–2008 היה מנהל.[7]
לה קפרה הוא חבר באקדמיה האמריקאית לאמנויות ומדעים (2006 – הווה).[8]
