איריס אידלסון-שיין היא פרופסור חבר במחלקה להיסטוריה של עם ישראל באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב.
קורות חיים[עריכת קוד מקור | עריכה]
אידלסון-שיין למדה לתואר ראשון ושני באוניברסיטת תל אביב, והשלימה את לימודי הדוקטורט שלה בשנת 2011, בבית הספר להיסטוריה של אוניברסיטת תל אביב בהדרכתה של פרופסור שולמית וולקוב. היא המשיכה למחקר פוסט-דוקטורט במרכז כ"ץ לחקר היהדות באוניברסיטת פנסילבניה, בסמינר להיסטוריה באוניברסיטת מינכן, ובמחלקה לתאולוגיה פרוטסטנטית באוניברסיטת גתה בפרנקפורט.
בשנת 2019 הצטרפה לסגל האקדמי של אוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב ובשנת 2020 נבחרה לאקדמיה הצעירה הישראלית.[1]

אידלסון-שיין מתעניינת בסוגיות של תרגום ודיאלוג בין-תרבותי בעת החדשה המוקדמת, ספרות יידיש ישנה, היסטוריה של המדע, ותפיסות של מיניות, גזע ומגדר.
מאז שנת 2019 היא מנהלת את פרוייקט JEWTACT לחקר תרגום יהודי בעת החדשה המוקדמת במימון מועצת המחקר האירופית (ERC).
