תגליות במדבר יהודה (באנגלית: Discoveries in the Judaean Desert או בקיצור DJD) היא סדרת הפרסומים הרשמית המונה 40 כרכים, המסכמים את תוכן תגליות מגילות מדבר יהודה. הסדרה פורסמה על ידי הוצאת אוניברסיטת אוקספורד.

פרטים כלליים

צוות החוקרים הבינלאומי המעורב בפרויקט הגיע מצפון אמריקה, ישראל ואירופה. רוב הכרכים נכתבו באנגלית, וכמה כרכים בצרפתית. הכרכים מכסים טקסטים ממגילות מדבר יהודה ובעיקר מממצאי קומראן, וכן ניתוחים של נתונים ארכאולוגיים ומשימות ארכאולוגיות.

רוב התגליות שנתגלו בשטחי מדינת ישראל עד 1967 לא פורסמו בסדרה זו.

היסטוריה

גל הפרסום הראשון התרחש בין השנים 1955 ו-1982. בתקופה זו פורסם חומר מן הממצאים בקומראן על פני שבעה כרכים. העורך הראשי של חמשת הכרכים הראשונים היה רולאן דה וו. בתקופה שבין 1962 ל-1968 פורסמה הסדרה (לאורך כרכים 3–4), לזמן מוגבל, תחת השם "תגליות במדבר יהודה בירדן". דה ווֹ הוחלף על ידי האב פייר בנואה (Pierre Benoit) שערך את הכרכים 6 ו-7. תפקידו הסתיים בשנת 1986. הוא הוחלף על ידי ג'ון סטרגנל (John Strugnell) שערך את כרך 8.

עבודת עריכה חשובה על המגילות התנ"כיות ביצע אויגן אולריך, אשר במשך מספר שנים קיבל על עצמו אחריות מיוחדת למשימה זו. משנת 1985 ואילך פעל אולריך כעורך ראשי של כל הטקסטים המקראיים ממערה 4 בקומראן.

לקראת סוף שנות השמונים התעורר פולמוס בקהילה האקדמית הבינלאומית סביב הקצב האיטי של הפרסום. שמונה כרכים בלבד פורסמו בשנים 1955–1990, וזכויות המחקר היו נתונות בידי קומץ חוקרים. הדבר עורר ביקורת מצד חוקרים. ניתנו כמה הסברים לעיכוב בפרסום כמו היעדר מימון וחוקרים. הועלו אף תאוריות קונספירציה לפיהן החוקרים מנסים להסתיר מידע רגיש הנוגע לדתות היהדות והנצרות.

לאחר תקופה זו קיבל על עצמו פרופ' עמנואל טוב מהאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים את תפקיד העורך ראשי. בהנהגתו של טוב, בתחילת שנות ה-90, צוות המחקר וההוצאה לאור הבינלאומי אורגן מחדש והורחב. המפעל המחודש נתמך על ידי רשות העתיקות של ישראל. תקופה זו, שבה פעלו עמנואל טוב וצוותו, הייתה תקופת השיא של פרויקט הפרסום. צוות החוקרים הבינלאומי הורחב וכלל תשעים ושמונה חוקרים. בעשר השנים שקדמו לשנת 2001 הפיקו ד"ר טוב וצוותו 28 כרכים. טוב פרש מתפקידו כעורך ראשי בשנת 2009. בשנה זו ראה אור הכרך ה-40 שסיים את פרויקט המחקר.
